This Privacy Policy explains how Tangal Secondary School (“we”, “our”, “the School”) collects, uses, stores and protects personal information in connection with this website (https://tangalschool.edu.np).

2.1 Information you provide to us

When you submit an inquiry through our contact form, we collect the information you enter:

• your phone number (required);
• your email address (optional);
• the subject of your inquiry (for example, Admissions, Fees, Academics, Careers, General, or Parents Feedback);
• the class you are inquiring about, if any; and
• the text of your message.

2.2 Information collected automatically

Analytics. This website uses a self-hosted, cookieless analytics service (Umami) to measure how the site is used. The analytics instance is operated for the School by AI and IT Solution, and its log data is stored on their server. The analytics tool does not use tracking cookies and does not collect personal identifiers such as your name or email address. Analytics and server logs are kept for up to 365 days.

2.3 Photos and images published on the website

The School publishes photographs, including a photo gallery, notice images and documents, and photographs of staff, in publicly visible cloud storage. The School may publish photographs of school events in which students may be visible. We do not obtain individual consent from guardians before publishing such photographs.

If you are shown in a photograph published on this website — or you are the parent or guardian of a child shown in one — and you want it removed, please contact [email protected] and we will review your request.

2.4 Children

This website contains information about a school whose students are minors. We do not intentionally collect personal information from children through forms, and our contact form is intended for parents, guardians and other adults. Content that may include minors is limited to the school photographs described in section 2.3.

2.5 No registration or accounts

This website does not create user accounts or require registration to view content. An administrative area exists only for School staff.

2.6 Cookies

This website does not use third-party tracking or advertising cookies, and the analytics service used is cookieless. The only cookie used is a secure session cookie for the School’s administrative area, which is not issued to ordinary visitors.

3. How we use your information

We use the information you submit through the contact form to respond to your inquiry. We use analytics information to understand how the website is used and to improve it.

4. Legal basis for processing

We process the personal information described above because you choose to provide it when contacting us, and in the School’s legitimate interest in operating a public information website, consistent with Nepal’s Privacy Act, 2075.

5. How long we keep information

Inquiries. We keep inquiry records for up to 365 days. After that period, closed or resolved inquiries are removed by an automated process; inquiries that are still open are not discarded.

Photos and notices. Published photographs, notice documents and staff photos are kept while they are needed for the website or for the School’s records.

6. Who we share your data with

We do not sell personal information. Limited data may be processed by, or stored with, the following providers:

• AI and IT Solution — website hosting and the self-hosted analytics service; analytics log data is stored on their server.
• Cloudflare — public cloud storage for images and notice documents, and the anti-bot verification used on our contact form. The storage bucket is intentionally configured for public reading of the published images.
• Google — the website loads fonts from Google Fonts and embeds a map from Google Maps. When your browser requests these resources, Google may process technical data such as your IP address under its own privacy policies.

7. International transfers

Some of the providers listed above may store or process data on servers outside Nepal (for example, Cloudflare’s global network and Google’s infrastructure).

8. Your rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information held about you, and may raise a privacy concern, by contacting [email protected]. We will respond as soon as practicable.

9. Photo removal requests

As described in section 2.3, any person shown in a photograph published on this website — or a parent or guardian of a child shown in one — may request its removal by contacting [email protected]. We will review and act on verified requests as soon as practicable.

10. Security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures appropriate to a school website, including encrypted storage of administrative credentials secured by a secret held only by our hosting provider, a secure administrative session cookie, anti-bot protection on the contact form, and limits on how many inquiries may be submitted.
